- Those taking advantage of this scheme should belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category or have low level of income.
- The annual income of the person taking advantage of this scheme should be less than Rs 2.4 lakh.
- Eligibility is primarily dependent on the Socio–Economic Caste Census (SECC) database.
- The family of the candidate above 16 years of age does not have any income.
- The person taking advantage of this scheme must belong to SC or ST category.
