Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2024, Action Plan, Demand Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most important cleanliness drive run by the Government of India. Shri Narendra Modi led a pledge ceremony for cleanliness at India Gate. Around 50 lakh government employees from across the country participated in it. He also flagged off a padyatra on the Rajpath on this occasion, not only symbolically walked a few steps but also surprised people by walking a long distance with the participants.

Leading the mass campaign of cleanliness, the Prime Minister inspired the people to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of building a clean and healthy India. Shri Narendra Modi himself started the cleanliness drive at the police station on Mandir Marg. He gave the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a mass movement for the entire nation by picking up a broom to clean the dust and dirt and said that people should neither spread dirt themselves nor let others do so. He also gave the mantra “We won’t do filth nor will we let others do it”. Shri Narendra Modi also invited nine people to join the cleanliness drive and requested each of them to encourage nine other people to join this initiative.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBM) 2024

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide sanitation scheme developed through the Government of India. This scheme involves 4041 accredited communities to clean the streets of India. It is a people’s movement to make India clean by 2019. It is a result of Mahatma Gandhi’s desire for India to live a healthy and balanced life as well as a prosperous life. This mission was started in October 2014 (Bapu’s 145th birth anniversary), with the goal of completing it on Bapu’s 150th birth anniversary in 2019. This mission has been implemented in the country as well as in the urban areas of India through the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Action Plan 2024

The activity launched for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is set through the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Its goal is to make the centre of health three-way by 2019. The important amendments to be made are in making an Open Defecation Free (ODF) India.
