Calculation CGPA from Grade Points
The Subject Grade points Achieved in the CBSE result will quickly show your CPGA. The five GPs aggregate scores excluding the extra subjects should be added . The CGPA is then calculated by Multiplying the total by five.
Let GPs scored by you in five subjects be :
- Science = 9
- Maths = 8
- English =7.5
- Hindi = 9
- Social Science = 7
The sum of the grade points = 9+8+7.5+9+7=40.5
Thus CGPA = 40.5/5=8.1
Formula to Convert CGPA into Percentage
Simply multiply the CGPA by 9.5 to calculate the Percentage From the CGPA.
Overall % of Marks = CGPA*9.5 |
Why 9.5 is used in the CGPA to Percentage Formula
This 9.5 represents the average score attained y the previous year’s top CBSE students. The board determined the average marks of all candidates who obtained score between 91 and 100 by examining the results from the preceding five year. It turned out that the average was about 95 points. As the corresponding Grade Points for the marks range 91-100 (A1 grade) is 10.95 was divided bye 10. then the final average score was 9.5. Thus , the three- steps process to calculate a percentage from a CGPA is as follows:
- Add grade points foe all five subjects.
- Divide the total grade point by five . This give your CGPA.
