Clive Lloyd:- West Indies captain Clive Lloyd has won two World Cups while starting. Clive Lloyd was a great batsman of his time. He had scored 7515 runs in 175 test innings. In his ODI batting career, he scored 1977 runs at an average of around 40. Overall, he is one of the most successful Test captains ever.
Kapil Dev:- Kapil was a famous all-rounder of his time. He was the first captain to bring the World Cup to India. This World Cup victory of India is considered to be the most difficult because at that time the West Indies team was a very strong team. But the Indian team did not give up and faced the West Indies fiercely and won the World Cup. Kapil had scored 5248 runs with the help of 8 centuries in Test matches and he scored his only century against Zimbabwe in the World Cup 1983. He also scored 3783 runs in ODI matches. Kapil had taken 434 wickets in Test matches, which was a world record for a long time.
Alan Border:- India and Pakistan were the co-hosts of the 1987 World Cup and also the favourite teams to win this World Cup but Australia led by Allan Border won this World Cup by defeating England in the final.
Imran Khan:- Imran Khan is undisputedly the second best all-rounder in the world after Gary Sobers. Australia and New Zealand were the co-hosts of this World Cup. Pakistan won its first World Cup by defeating England in the final match. Imran Khan had scored more than 3800 runs in Test matches and 3700 runs in ODIs. Arjun Ranatunga:-The 1996 World Cup was co-hosted by Pakistan and India. Sri Lanka won its first World Cup by defeating Australia. The opening pair of Jayasuriya and Kaluvitarana were the most dangerous batsmen of that World Cup. Aravinda de Silva scored a century in the final match and also took 3 wickets.
Steve Waugh:- 1999 was Australia’s second World Cup. Australia defeated Pakistan in the final played in England. Steve Waugh scored 110 runs in the quarter-finals and took his team to the semi-finals.
